Meet Matilda
Matilda is an 18-year-old Thoroughbred mare that came into our care after her previous owner fell upon hard times. She has a kind heart and a lively personality. Matilda is accustomed to both being stalled when needed and spending time at pasture with free-choice access to shelter. While we do not have a documented riding history, Matilda has retained some skills from the past and is reportedly comfortable being tacked up and carrying a rider. Since she is visually impaired in one eye, a future owner would need to prioritize basic confidence building before moving forward with any additional skills training. Matilda has also formed a close bond with her blind companion, Stella. She helps Stella navigate new places and typically keeps close tabs on her whereabouts. These best friends would love to find a home together.
